pick your november personality (+ her recipe, glow ups and 4-week challenge)

a white table set for friendsgiving with burgundy napkins, sliced turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce

November has range. Some of us are in sweatpants by sunset, some of us have a tree up before the turkey, and some of us already have a group chat going about who's bringing what. So I made a guide for six November personalities, each with her glow ups, a recipe, a mantra and a 4-week challenge to make the most of the month.

This is the full version of my Instagram carousel, with every recipe, every glow up explained and every challenge broken out week by week.

Jump to your personality: a) the 5pm-sunset homebody · b) the straight-to-christmas girl · c) the friendsgiving host · d) the gratitude list girl · e) the turkey trot girl · f) the 2027-vision-board girl · Which one is your zodiac sign? · How to do the 4-week challenge

Pick the one that sounds most like you. Then check which personalities your sun, moon and rising signs point to. If you're more than one, you get to borrow from both.

a) The 5pm-sunset homebody

Sweatpants on before it gets dark (so, 4:59).

The clocks went back, the sun sets before dinner, and honestly? She's thrilled. The homebody isn't hiding from November. She's the one who makes staying in feel like the plan, not the backup plan.

Her glow ups

  • A warm shower and fresh pajamas the minute she's home. It's the clearest "the day is over" signal there is, and it turns the early dark into the start of your evening instead of the end of your day.
  • After dark, lamps only. Skip the bright ceiling lights after sunset. Two or three lamps at different heights make any room feel cozier, and it's a nice cue to slow down.
  • One night a week with no plans, on purpose. Put it on the calendar like any other plan, so it doesn't get filled.

Her recipe: warm pear + oat crumble for one

warm pear and oat crumble in a cream bowl held in two hands on a cozy sofa

Serves 1

  • 1 ripe pear, diced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp maple syrup, divided
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp almond flour
  • 1 tbsp chopped pecans
  • 1 scoop Radiance
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp melted coconut oil
  1. Heat the oven to 375°F. Toss the pear with the lemon juice, cinnamon and 1 tsp of the maple syrup in a small oven-safe bowl or ramekin.
  2. In another bowl, mix the oats, almond flour, pecans, Radiance and salt. Stir in the coconut oil and the rest of the maple syrup until it clumps, then scatter it over the pears.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the pears are bubbling and the top is golden. Let it cool for 5 minutes before you dig in.

Notes: In the air fryer, bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes. A spoonful of Greek yogurt on top is the move.

Her mantra: Staying in is a plan too.

Her 4-week challenge: one cozy update a week, no shopping required

  • Week 1: a reading corner. Pick your favorite seat, move a lamp next to it and keep a throw on the arm. That's it. Now it's a spot.
  • Week 2: a cozier bed. Put your softest sheets on and add the extra pillow from the closet.
  • Week 3: a slippers and robe spot right by the bed. A hook or the end of the bed, so the coziest part of your night is the easiest to reach.
  • Week 4: a nightstand reset. Clear it down to a mug, a book and lip balm. Everything else finds a new home.

b) The straight-to-christmas girl

The pumpkin's still out. So is the tree.

She doesn't skip Thanksgiving. She just doesn't see why she has to wait until after it to feel festive. The tree goes up when it goes up, and the holiday playlist has been on since the first.

Her glow ups

  • A dance break in the kitchen while dinner cooks. One song, full volume. It's the most fun way to move a little on a weeknight.
  • String lights up now. They count as a lamp, and the warm glow makes an early sunset feel like a choice.
  • A weeknight holiday movie, no waiting for December. Pick one you love and put it on tonight.

Her recipe: homemade peppermint mocha

a homemade peppermint mocha in a clear glass mug topped with foam and crushed candy cane

Serves 1

  • 2 shots espresso (or ½ cup strong brewed coffee), hot
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • ⅛ tsp peppermint extract
  • ¾ cup milk of choice
  • 1 scoop Radiance
  • crushed candy cane to top (optional)
  1. In your mug, whisk the hot espresso with the cocoa, maple syrup and peppermint extract until smooth.
  2. Warm the milk until it steams, then add the Radiance and froth it with a frother (or shake it in a lidded jar).
  3. Pour the frothed milk over the coffee and top with crushed candy cane.

Notes: Go easy on the peppermint extract. ⅛ teaspoon is plenty, and you can always add a drop more.

Her mantra: I don't need permission to feel festive.

Her 4-week challenge: try one new tradition a week, then keep your favorite all season

  • Week 1: a cookie night. Bake one batch and share some.
  • Week 2: a holiday playlist swap with a friend. Each of you sends five songs the other has to add.
  • Week 3: a Sunday cocoa. Make it a standing date with yourself, or with whoever's home.
  • Week 4: one new ornament. Pick one that means something about this year. Bonus points if you write the year on the back.

c) The friendsgiving host

Made the group chat, the seating chart and the list.

She loves a full table, and she's the reason it happens. Her November glow up isn't doing more. It's letting people help, so she gets to enjoy her own party.

Her glow ups

  • Say yes when someone offers to bring something. Have an answer ready (a side, ice, wine, a dessert) so "can I bring anything?" always gets a yes.
  • Label each serving dish the night before. A sticky note in each dish with what goes in it means anyone can help plate, and you're not answering questions mid-gravy.
  • Ten minutes to sit before guests arrive, drink in hand. Everything that's done is done. You get to be a guest at your own party too.

Her recipe: whipped feta dip with roasted butternut squash, hot honey + pomegranate

whipped feta dip topped with roasted butternut squash, hot honey and pomegranate, with a hand dipping a cracker

Serves 8 as an appetizer

  • 3 cups butternut squash, cut into ½-inch cubes (about 1 small squash, or a pre-cut bag)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz feta
  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • 2 scoops Radiance
  • 2 tbsp hot honey (or 2 tbsp honey warmed with ½ tsp red pepper flakes)
  • ⅓ cup pomegranate seeds
  • a few thyme leaves
  • crackers or warm pita to serve
  1. Heat the oven to 425°F. Toss the squash with the olive oil, salt and pepper on a sheet pan and roast for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway, until the edges caramelize.
  2. Blend the feta, yogurt, lemon juice, garlic and Radiance in a food processor for 1 to 2 minutes, until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Spread the dip in a wide, shallow bowl. Top with the warm squash, drizzle with the hot honey, and finish with the pomegranate seeds and thyme. Serve with crackers or pita.

Notes: Make the whipped feta up to a day ahead and keep it covered in the fridge. Roast the squash right before guests arrive so it's still warm.

Her mantra: The table doesn't have to be perfect to be full.

Her 4-week challenge: host one small thing a week, building up to the big one

  • Week 1: coffee with one friend. Your kitchen, one hour, no cleaning beforehand beyond the counter.
  • Week 2: a soup night for two. One pot, bread on the side.
  • Week 3: takeout and a movie for three. Practice hosting where the only job is picking the movie.
  • Week 4: friendsgiving. By now, hosting a few people feels easy. Say yes to every offer to help.

d) The gratitude list girl

25 lines deep by Thanksgiving.

Some people get thankful on the fourth Thursday. She's been noticing the good stuff all month, one line at a time, so by the time she sits down at the table, she has a list.

Her glow ups

  • One line a night in her notes app before bed. Just one. The small, specific ones count the most ("sunsets at 5", "friends who text back").
  • Swap one "sorry" a day for a "thank you". "Thanks for waiting," not "sorry I'm late." Same moment, better feeling for both of you.
  • One line for herself, for something she did well. Being grateful for yourself belongs on the list too.

Her recipe: cranberry orange overnight oats

cranberry orange overnight oats in a glass jar with orange segments and zest, a halved orange beside it

Serves 1

  • ½ cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 tsp maple syrup, divided
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup milk of choice
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop Radiance
  • ½ tsp orange zest, plus more to top
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • orange segments to top
  1. Simmer the cranberries, orange juice and 1 tsp of the maple syrup in a small pot over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, until the berries pop. Let it cool.
  2. In a jar, stir the oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds, Radiance, orange zest, cinnamon and the rest of the maple syrup. Spoon the cranberries on top.
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight (at least 4 hours). Top with orange segments and a little more zest in the morning.

Notes: The cranberry compote keeps for 5 days in the fridge, so make a double batch and you're set for the week.

Her mantra: I already have so much worth noticing.

Her 4-week challenge: mail one handwritten thank-you card a week

  • Week 1: a friend who showed up for you this year. Name the moment. "Thank you for that call in March" means more than "thanks for everything."
  • Week 2: a teacher or mentor. Yours or your kid's. Tell them one thing they taught you that stuck.
  • Week 3: a neighbor. The one who brings your packages in, or waves every morning.
  • Week 4: someone who would never expect it. Your mail carrier, your barista, an old friend you've lost touch with.

e) The turkey trot girl

Signed up for the 5k mostly for the pie after.

She's not training for a personal record. She's training to have fun on Thanksgiving morning, and the pie after is part of the fun. Showing up is the whole point.

Her glow ups

  • A 5-minute walk first, so mile one isn't miserable. Warming up makes the start feel so much better.
  • Race in socks she's worn before, never new shoes. Race day is not the day to test anything new.
  • Lay out her race outfit the night before, bib already pinned. Thanksgiving morning is busy. Future you will be grateful.

Her recipe: pumpkin pie smoothie

a pumpkin pie smoothie in a tall glass topped with yogurt, crumble and cinnamon, next to earbuds and a coral towel

Serves 1

  • ½ cup pumpkin purée (not pie filling)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ¾ cup milk of choice
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt, plus a spoonful to top
  • 1 scoop Radiance
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • a small handful of ice
  • crushed graham cracker or granola and cinnamon to top
  1. Add everything except the toppings to a blender, in that order.
  2. Blend until completely smooth, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour it into a tall glass and top with a spoonful of yogurt, the crushed graham cracker or granola, and a pinch of cinnamon.

Notes: Freeze leftover pumpkin purée in an ice cube tray, and next time skip the ice.

Her mantra: Showing up is the first mile.

Her 4-week challenge: three short walks or runs a week, a little longer each week

  • Week 1: 1 mile. Walk, run or mix both. Walk-run intervals (run 1 minute, walk 2) are a great place to start.
  • Week 2: 2 miles. Same three days, a little further.
  • Week 3: 3.1 miles. That's a 5k. You can officially do the race.
  • Week 4: race day. A turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning, or your own 5k around the neighborhood. Then pie.

f) The 2027-vision-board girl

Two months left in the year, but she's already in 2027.

She's not rushing the holidays. She just likes to walk into January with a plan instead of a blank page. November is her favorite planning month because there's still time to get a head start.

Her glow ups

  • A 10-minute look back at 2026 before planning 2027. Write down three things that went well and one thing you'd do differently. The board is better when it's built on what you learned.
  • One goal per area, max. Body, money, people, joy. Four goals you'll actually work on beat twelve you'll forget by February.
  • Her board where she'll see it daily. Lock screens count.

Her recipe: apple cinnamon energy bites

apple cinnamon energy bites in a cream bowl next to a halved red apple and an open notebook with a pen

Makes about 14 bites

  • ½ cup almond butter
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 scoops Radiance
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • ½ cup finely diced apple, patted dry
  1. Stir the almond butter, honey, cinnamon and salt together in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Mix in the oats, Radiance and flaxseed, then fold in the apple.
  3. Chill for 20 minutes, then roll into 1-inch balls. Keep them in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Notes: If the mix feels dry, add a teaspoon of almond butter. If it's sticky, chill it another 10 minutes.

Her mantra: I'm allowed to want more.

Her 4-week challenge: one small step toward 2027 a week

  • Week 1: pick your word for 2027. One word for how you want next year to feel.
  • Week 2: make the board, paper or phone. Pictures, words, whatever makes you want to look at it.
  • Week 3: put the first step of each goal on your calendar. A date, a time, done. That's the step most people skip.
  • Week 4: tell one person your biggest goal. Saying it out loud to someone who cares makes it real.

✨ Glow tip: every recipe here works without Radiance. If you have it, "1 scoop" means the scoop that comes in your tub. It's unflavored, so it disappears into the mocha and the smoothie, bakes right into the crumble topping, and blends into the whipped feta without changing a thing. Whisk or blend it into something wet first instead of sprinkling it on top.

How to do the 4-week challenge

If you start on Tuesday, November 3, here's how the month lines up:

  • Week 1 (November 3 to 9): the new moon in Scorpio is Sunday, November 8, at 11:02 p.m. PT (2:02 a.m. ET on the 9th). New moons are traditionally for fresh starts, so it's a great night to write down which challenge you're taking on.
  • Week 2 (November 10 to 16): keep going.
  • Week 3 (November 17 to 23): the home stretch. Check in on how it's going so far.
  • Week 4 (November 24 to 30): it opens with the full moon in Gemini on Tuesday, November 24, at 6:53 a.m. PT. Full moons are traditionally a time to look back and let go, so it's a good morning to celebrate what you've done. Then Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26: race day for the turkey trot girl and the big one for the friendsgiving host.

Starting later is completely fine. Your week 1 starts the day you do.

Want somewhere to track it? My free self-care checklist has a 30-day ritual tracker made for this, plus a new and full moon page for those two check-ins. And if you'd like a whole new moon ritual to go with it, my new moon ritual guide walks you through one step by step.

November personality questions, answered

What are the six November personalities?

The 5pm-sunset homebody, the straight-to-christmas girl, the friendsgiving host, the gratitude list girl, the turkey trot girl and the 2027-vision-board girl. Each one comes with her glow ups, a recipe, a mantra and a 4-week challenge.

Can I be more than one?

Yes. Your sun, moon and rising signs can point to different personalities, and you might see yourself in more than one anyway. Pick one challenge to focus on and borrow the recipes and glow ups from the others.

When is Thanksgiving in 2026?

Thursday, November 26, 2026. If you start the 4-week challenge on November 3, Thanksgiving falls in week 4.

When is the new moon in Scorpio in 2026?

Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 11:02 p.m. Pacific time (2:02 a.m. Eastern on Monday, November 9).

How do I find my moon and rising signs?

You need your birth date, birth time and birth place. Enter them into any free birth chart calculator and it will show your sun, moon and rising signs.

Do I need collagen for these recipes?

No. Every recipe works without it. If you have Radiance, it's unflavored, so it blends into all six without changing the taste.

So, which one are you?

I'm a Scorpio sun and moon with an Aquarius rising, so I'm a d) and an f), and I'm mixing them. From the gratitude list girl, I'm taking the thank-you card challenge. From the 2027-vision-board girl, I'm taking the energy bites (desk snack, sorted) and her mantra: I'm allowed to want more.

Tell me yours. Send me your letters on Instagram at @theglowgirlwellness, or comment NOVEMBER on the post and I'll send you all six recipes plus the checklist. I read every message.
