Is there anything better than a healthier holiday dessert that’s fudgy, chocolatey, has all the festive flavors, & even some pink lol?! 👏

Made with simple wholesome ingredients (even balanced with some protein!), these gingerbread brownies are super easy to make.

I opted to sprinkle some pink sanding sugar for an eye-appealing dusting 🤩 & crushed up candy canes for some added peppermint flavor 😋, but feel free to add/omit whatever toppings you’d like! Makes 9 brownies.

For the brownies, mix:

-1 cup mashed bananas

-1/2 cup nut butter

-1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

-1/2 cup chocolate protein powder

-1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

-1/2 teaspoon cloves

-1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Then fold in:

-1/4-1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Transfer batter to a lined 8x8 pan, & bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let brownies cool completely before topping with the chocolate layer.

For the chocolate layer, mix:

-3/4 cup dark chocolate chips, melted

-1 tbsp coconut oil, melted

-1/4 cup vanilla or chocolate protein powder

Pour over the top of the brownie layer, smoothing into an even layer. Sprinkle with your desired toppings (sprinkles, crushed candy canes, cinnamon, ginger, chocolate chips) & place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the chocolate set & harden. Slice, serve, & enjoy!
