This eclipse season

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse crosses Greenland, Iceland, and northern Spain. It's the first total solar eclipse over mainland Europe since 1999, and it peaks mid-morning California time. It happens in Leo, the one sign the sun calls home. The next solar eclipse after this one: February 6, 2027 (an annular eclipse, the "ring of fire" kind). Remember that date. It matters later in this post.

What a total solar eclipse actually is (the honest version)
